I am a learning specialist. I received my doctorate degree in Learning and Leading in the Neuroeducation concentration area at University of Portland, and a Master of Art in Teaching in Special Education. Before being a special education teacher, I taught ESOL, language arts, and bilingual classes in secondary and post-secondary settings. My job is to support students in general classrooms and those with exceptional learning needs to explore their potentials in reading, writing, language learning, and other cognitive and metacognitive abilities. I believe all students have their unique ways to process information and attempt to gain control of their environment. As an educator, I am eager to help them understand who and where they are in the learning process and develop appropriate strategies to learn with confidence.

Some fun things about me: I was born in China. That means I speak Mandarin, play pingpong, and eat spicy food. I also like to eat taco, pizza, and ice cream. In my spare time, I play the ukulele (just get started), swim, and go kayaking with my family.

My learning motto is: What we pay attention is what grows! Enjoy Learning!
